Yeooooo.
Today I’ll be sharing a few food spots, a couple of museums, and a cute dessert spot that are in and around the La Condesa and Hipódromo neighborhoods just west of Roma Norte.
I love this neighborhood. Quiet, beautiful, and packed with great food and galleries. If you’re staying around Roma Norte these spots are relatively close by and are great for a long day roaming around CDMX.

For breakfast, we hit this unassuming tent that serves a variety of tortas. I saw this spot on a few Youtube CDMX food guides and there’s a ton of hype around these tortas so… we had to peep it. It opens at 8 AM but trust me… you’re going to want to go early because there is a constant line there. This little stall is the exemplar of delicious, efficient, and humble street food vendors in CDMX.
For $55 pesos you can get a warm torta that is filled with a few different options: Thinly sliced breaded chicken (pollo), breaded pork (cochino), both (la bomba), and with either green chile (verde) or red chili (rojo). We got a pollo with verde sauce and a cochino with rojo.
The tortas were fully packed out and damn good. Correct me in the comments if I am wrong, but from what it looked like, they had soaked tortillas/tortilla chips in the verde and rojo sauces and mounded on top of your protein of choice along with crema and a little slaw. The bread has a crispy exterior and the insides of the tortas were filled with an organized mash of all the flavors.
It’s a pretty heavy breakfast but I definitely recommend hitting this spot before hitting any of the galleries/museums in the area that I will list next!
